Here's a story about 2 girls named Pamela and Victoria. They worked very hard a long, long time ago before you could buy your revolution at the mall and you had to make your own with Elmer's and original thought. They saved their money to make a record and they played lots of gigs where they got stuff thrown at them and got called names to make the world better so you can pierce your tongue and no one will think you're too weird. And they made a record that everyone loved so much that they made lots of cassette copies for all thir friends. And thusly there wasn't any money to make another one. And NOW when people like it they post it to the internet for all their friends to take for free so there will never be money to make another one. Plus ca change, c'est plus la meme merde.

It's a sad fact of life that it takes money to live and it takes money to buy equipment and it takes money to put out product which is what this kind of art is. So please take my song off the file-sharing site. There's only one person who has the right to give it away and that's me. Not even Victoria has the right. Just me, because I wrote it. You can post a sample, that's fine. And I am truly glad after all of these years that you like it and it speaks to the rejects and lonely kids of this world. Long may they reign But I would like to do a reissue oe of these days as you know from reading Waxidermy and no one will buy it if they can get it for free. That's the way of the world and the free market. And if there is one thing I know it is my history...I am the girl who wrote Study Up.

Take care,

Pamela

I'm sorry, but reading your rant makes me NOT WANT to listen to your music at all. I don't make any money from my music, but nonetheless I accept that that is the way it is and I continue to write more and put it online for free. I also buy equipment, with money earned from my "day job", and I get no return other than the satisfaction of writing and playing music. If you wanted to make money you should have scrapped the music thing and went to school to be a business major or a lawyer something. Get over it.
